The Trust

The Mōkihinui-Lyell Backcountry Trust is a registered charitable trust (incorporation number 2149528) and was incorporated in July 2008. The Trust is a local, voluntarily-run, grassroots initiative. Current Trustees (as of June 2026) are:

  • Anne Brewster – outdoors-lover, cyclist and COO – Stevenson Mining and Engineering
  • Casey Scanlon – co-owner – Martin’s Mitre 10 Westport
  • Glenn Irving – outdoor enthusiast, engineer and project manager – Alternity Concepts
  • Ian Harvey – outdoor enthusiast and General Manager – Bathurst Resources
  • Phil Rossiter (Chairperson) – outdoor enthusiast, environmental scientist and project manager – Dextera Ltd
